   at Skoufou 3, Sintagma

John Murphy will present a workshop in which he will introduce to you and explore with you the use of   psychodrama in psychotherapy.

Aims of the workshop

The aims of the first part of this workshop are to teach you through direct experience how a Psychodrama session is structured and unfolds.

We will enter in to a warm up exercise

Followed by an action phase

And finish with a sharing session

Following the break we will return to look at Psychodrama theory. This will involve looking at:

Origins of Psychodrama, Existential philosophy, Role theory, Role analysis, Concretisation, Empathy, empowerment, Choice, Catharsis and types of application.

By use of experiential methods, and backed by our understanding of the self based on role theory, and group dynamics, psychodrama can facilitate positive change in ourselves and in the groups we work and live in.

John Murphy works part time in a London teaching hospital as a Psychiatric Liaison Nurse specialising in the assessment of deliberate self harm.
